Beeswax Heirloom Tomato Large Candle
Is there anything more beautiful than an heirloom tomato? These are made from tomatoes grown at home by Gavin from Heirloomacy and they truly are beautiful objects.
As soon as I saw them at the farmers market I thought ‘I have to make those into candles!!’ and you are looking at the product of that dream. Each one is different to the last and truly unique - just like the tomatoes themselves. These are large solid beeswax tomatoes that burn satisfyingly well, if these are. a bit wild, the smaller versions are here.

Beeswax is made by honeybees building combs in their hives. Beekeepers extract the honey from the combs and they are left with the wax, a beautiful by-product of an incredible process of nature. No waste and sustainable.
Not only that - beeswax is said to have a completely clean, non-toxic burn that releases negative ions into the air which bind with toxins and help remove them from the air. It also lasts - beeswax has been found in ancient Egypt in tombs dating back to 1550 B.C. A pretty good expiry date then.
Also, I have heard that the colour of the light that is emitted from a beeswax candle flame is the same spectrum as the sun! Now that’s impressive.
In candles, beeswax burns longer and without soot- better for you, better for your kids and most definitely better for your white walls. They also drip less, smell good and are a beautiful colour all by themselves, completely naturally.
